Launching the Year with Purpose: Highlights from Unity Conference & “Count Me In” Training

The Unity Conference 2025, held at St. Anne’s Diocesan College in Pietermaritzburg, provided an incredible start to the year for Scripture Union Independent Schools. Nearly 80 students from six different schools gathered for a time of spiritual growth, worship, and leadership development. The conference created a dynamic environment for faith-building through praise and worship, peer prayer, and enriching workshops.

Workshops were a key feature of the event, with students diving into two impactful sessions:

  • Worship Workshop, led by Tyron Ivins, provided a space for students to explore and deepen their understanding of worship.
  • Leadership & Biblical Studies Workshop, facilitated by Graydon Scholtz, challenged students to grow in faith and leadership.

Throughout the conference, students shared personal reflections, reinforcing how transformative and uplifting the experience was.

Equipping for Mission: “Count Me In” Training

The “Count Me In” training, hosted at Gateway Church in Durban, marked another powerful start to the year. This session equipped mission partners with essential skills and knowledge, covering:

  • Vision 2030 & SU’s Mission Framework
  • School Etiquette & the Power of Storytelling
  • SU’s Relationship with the Church
  • Personal Wholeness, Team Building, & Conflict Resolution

Through interactive discussions and hands-on activities, participants strengthened their teamwork, strategizing, and communication skills, ensuring they are well-prepared for the year ahead.

Both events set a strong foundation for the journey ahead, inspiring students and mission partners alike to step boldly into their calling.
