Life-Changing Moments with Scripture Union KZN

Over the past few weeks, Scripture Union KZN had the incredible privilege of journeying with learners across two schools, creating meaningful spaces for connection, reflection, and life transformation.

At Southcity Christian School (South Coast), we ran four impactful LifeSkills sessions with a vibrant group of Grade 7 students. Topics like anti-bullying, self-esteem, love and relationships, values, and grief sparked deep engagement and open-hearted conversations. One student, who had long struggled to speak about the loss of his aunt, finally found the courage to share after hearing our facilitator’s own story of grief. These safe spaces became sacred grounds for healing, and we witnessed 28 learners make a personal commitment to Christ. What a powerful reminder of the life-changing impact of creating honest, supportive environments.

We also recently facilitated Prayer Spaces at St Mary’s DSG in Kloof, where students from Grade 1 to Grade 10 experienced moments of quiet reflection and spiritual connection. One young student vulnerably shared her feelings of not being enough, despite outwardly having “everything” that should bring happiness. In that still moment, she encountered God in a way that was deeply personal and healing.

These stories remind us why we do what we do: creating spaces where young people can feel seen, heard, and drawn closer to the love of Christ.
