Sonia Nel, Jemima Philander, and Dan Lutumba are three of our volunteer leaders who recently joined us on our Camp Leaders Training Weekend! Let’s hear what each of them had to say about the unique way in which the camp impacted their lives and ministries:
Sonia: as a teen camp leader, I initially sought to overcome my introversion and enhance my confidence. The Leadership Camp exceeded my expectations, leaving me grateful and joyous. The warmth and passion of the team, coupled with moments of devotion and fellowship, created an atmosphere where God’s presence was palpable. I returned transformed, now more confident, courageous, and deeply connected to my faith in Christ.
Jemima: as a Froggy camp leader, I emphasize the extraordinary nature of my leaders’ training camp experience. I gained spiritual and practical tools, including child safeguarding and teaching methods, equipping me not only for the Froggy camp but also for broader child and youth ministry. I encourage others called to similar ministries to embrace the training offered by Scripture Union.
Dan: as a Mini-camp leader, I celebrate the fellowship I experienced at the camp, where I heard inspiring testimonies and formed lasting connections with fellow leaders. Equipped through training, I eagerly anticipate impacting children’s lives by sharing the good news at the upcoming Mini-camp.
