Holiday Club Training

The first training day for volunteer leaders kicked off with an enthusiastic group of 43 leaders representing nine holiday clubs, and the number is set to double by the time the holiday club season begins in June/July.

The volunteers were pumped up and ready to answer the call of God to share the good news with the kids who attend the clubs. They covered a range of topics such as how to finance and fundraise a successful club, how to recruit a team, and each leader's role at the holiday club. The training day was a resounding success, and the volunteers look forward to the next training day.

The upcoming training days will cover essential topics such as child safeguarding, appropriate use of social media, and godly discipline. Leaders will also get an overview of the Justice Generation manual and practical tips on using the program effectively. All leaders will have the opportunity to see a holiday club in action and receive skills training for small group leaders.

At the heart of a successful holiday club is a well-trained leadership team. The program aims to serve churches by equipping coordinators and directors to lead their teams effectively. The Holiday Club manual is available for purchase at the Rondebosch bookshop, and further details are available at su.org.za.

To attend the training sessions, there is a fee of R50 per session. If you have any queries, please correspond with Karen Meyer via email. With a passionate and enthusiastic team of volunteers, the Holiday Clubs promise to be an exceptional encounter for all involved. Get ready for a season of fun, faith, and growth!
