Everyone normally has their summer plans jotted down… AND SO DID WE!!
The Camp theme was split into three categories for the 4 days we were on camp. The first was #identity – this category was aimed at self-identity. The campers had the opportunity to get to know themselves apart from how the media and outside influence views them. Second Category was #selfies and here we dealt with their character of who they are when no one is watching. Our last category was #identityinChrist, which entailed that, now that they had identified themselves, we drew their attention to their Maker, the One who made them and has a plan and a purpose for their lives.
The programme was filled with lots of activities, obstacle courses, survivor games and plenty of water games. On the last day of our summer adventure, we took the opportunity to go and explore nature far out of the campsite and during this time we had the chance to minister the gospel. Twelve young people made the decision to give their hearts to Christ and start a walk with Him. It’s amazing that when you do the will of God, you see how faithful He is. Which reminds me of the scripture: “I planted the seed in your hearts, and Apollos watered it, but it was God who made it grow.”
We are excited to see what God will do in their lives as they bear fruit for the Kingdom.
We are looking forward to #ACTIVATESUMMER2016 where more young lives can be impacted.
