I’ve spent pretty much my entire adult life working full time as a church staff member. I’ve loved it. I’ve served with a lot of friends, on a lot of teams, under a lot of leaders.
Do you know what the leaders who inspire me the most have in common?
They are gracious to people. They try to rely as much as they can on God’s grace to lead themselves and others.
For me, simple grace is what sets leaders apart from others. Grace to love people despite their failings and offenses, grace to turn to God constantly for direction and strength.
I think the reason for that is because a person filled with grace and living in grace is a person who is most like Jesus, the King of Grace.
And that’s worth imitating
