Do you find it hard to believe in resurrection? Those who were there when it happened couldn’t believe it either. Check this story out (from Luke 24 and John 20):
‘Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen! Remember how he told you ‘The Son of Man must be delivered over to the hands of sinners, be crucified and on the third day be raised again.’
[The women] told this to the apostles but they did not believe them, because their words seemed to them like nonsense.
[Later, two other disciples] discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognising him.
Jesus said to them, ‘How foolish you are, and how slow to believe all that the prophets have spoken!’
Later, Jesus himself stood among the disciples and said to them, ‘Peace be with you.’ They were startled and frightened, thinking they saw a ghost.
He said to them, ‘Look at my hands and my feet. It is I myself! Touch me and see; a ghost does not have flesh and bones, as you see I have.’
A week later his disciples were in the house again, and Thomas was with them. Jesus came and stood among them and said, ‘Peace be with you!’ Then he said to Thomas, ‘Put your finger here; see my hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.’
Thomas said to him, ‘My Lord and my God!’
