As you will no doubt be aware, Xavier Moran is to leave SUIS at the end of December after having been the National Director for the past seven years. He and his wife Lara and their two children are moving to Cape Town where Xavier is to join Scripture Union of South Africa (the parent body of SUIS) as their National Resource Co-ordinator. Xavier has been an outstanding servant of the ministry and has impacted the lives of thousands of young people in the Independent Schools of South Africa.
It is with great joy that we believe that God has called Greg Wynn to the position of SUIS National Director. Greg is married to Tammy and they have a baby daughter, Caris. Greg will take up his appointment from 1 January 2015.
Greg has been very involved in SUIS activities in the past. He was educated at Michaelhouse and received a Bachelor of Social Studies degree from Natal University. He also has a Diploma in Theology from Trinity College, Bristol. He was ordained a Priest in the Anglican Church in 2013. Greg worked for SUIS in the late 1990s, was a youth pastor at St Thomas’ in Durban and St Martin in the Field in Durban North. In 2004 he moved to Johannesburg and worked for Opus Dei Advisory Services. He then relocated to the UK where he held a number of positions in various organizations. From 2007 to 2010 he was a Lay School Chaplain at St Mary Magdalene Academy in Islington. During this time he met Tammy, another South African living in London, and they were married in January 2010. In 2012 they returned to South Africa and Greg is currently the Curate at St Agnes Church in Kloof.
We are deeply grateful to God for his provision for the ministry in giving us a successor to Xavier. By his grace he has once again affirmed what SUIS seeks to achieve and we look forward to welcoming Greg, Tammy and little Claris into their new role in the SUIS family.
