As support staff to Regions, National Office staff don’t always get the opportunity to be out in the “field”. We tend to be so focussed on admin or support that we sometimes forget why we do what we do! This past July, we decided to change that and visit some holiday clubs in the Western Cape Region. Our mission was to connect with the volunteers who we rarely get to meet and to see those that we are supporting in the ministry. It was such an incredible experience to see what our efforts as National Office helps to achieve.
Here are some comments from our National Office Staff:
“It was really nice to visit a few holiday clubs this year with colleagues! It is not always easy for people to link finance/admin people to ministry, but this experience for me always makes it worth being in ministry. Silent prayers, encouraging leaders and interacting with kids was awesome! Please let this be our thing we do continually and not just at holiday club times. Thanks for your contribution and always staying positive, I am blessed by your ongoing support.” – Michelle Revell (National Accountant)
“We came, we saw, we were blown away!” – Alan Pitt (National Operations Director)
“Amazing what God can do with the little that we bring!” – Cynthia Ncube (M&E Officer)
“Kids are kids…irrespective of colour or race they are the same…” – Nomsa Putuma (Most valuable member of the staff)
“It was great to be part of the days experience on holiday club and the kids we got to spend time with” – Sharon Viljoen (Payroll Administrator) SU national Office
