Vusumzi Siwali, a fieldworker from Scripture Union Amatola, ran a holiday club for learners from Nzaliseko Senior Primary School between 5-9 December 2016 (at the school premises). The learners enjoyed the range of activities run by Vusi and his team of volunteers. As well as doing life skills-related discussions and group time, learners had a lot of fun doing games, obstacle courses and water games.
The team focused on creating an encouraging atmosphere so that learners could participate to their full potential. A big emphasis was put on allowing kids to share a memorable experience with their friends, as well as learning about how to deal with challenges that are faced by teenagers these days and encouraging them to talk about the difficulties they experience.
From Vusi: “I would say the activity was a great success. I really enjoyed observing the group dynamics during activities. May the Lord bless and keep each and every one of those children.”
